If you’ve glanced at the metals market lately and thought, “Wait… is that real?” — you’re not alone. Let’s talk numbers for a second. I promise not to make it boring.
Here’s what happened:
Gold
January 2025: $2,640
January 2026: $4,345
That’s an increase of about 65% 🤯
Silver
January 2025: $30
January 2026: $72
That’s an increase of about 140% (yes, you read that right)
And as I’m writing this?
Gold is hovering around $4,612
Silver is flirting with $90
So yes… metals are on a very strong upward trajectory.
The Good News (Because There Is Plenty) 💛Before anyone spirals about prices, let me flip the perspective - because this is actually great news if you already own jewelry.
Your jewelry just became more valuable
That gold chain you never take off.
The silver cuff that lives in the back of your drawer.
That vintage ring you loved once… but don’t really wear anymore.
All of it is worth more today than it was a year ago.
And unlike fast fashion (or that questionable impulse purchase from 2016), precious metals hold real, tangible value.
Shop Your Own Jewelry Box
This is honestly one of my favorite conversations to have with clients. Right now is a fantastic time to:
Dig out pieces you no longer love
Trade in old or broken jewelry for credit toward something new
Repurpose sentimental pieces into designs that actually feel like you
Refresh heirlooms so they get worn instead of hidden away
Think of it less like “selling” and more like reinvesting in yourself.
Your old jewelry isn’t dead weight - it’s raw material waiting for a glow-up.
Why I Love Repurposing (Especially Right Now)
You’re using metal you already own
Sentimental value stays intact
You get something custom and personal
You’re less exposed to rising material costs
It’s practical and emotional. My favorite combo.
So… What Should You Do Next?
You don’t need to rush. You don’t need to panic-buy. You definitely don’t need to be a market expert. You just need to be curious.
✨ Open your jewelry box
✨ Try things on
✨ Notice what you never reach for

Email or DM me if you want help figuring out what your jewelry could be worth now - or what it could turn into next.
Because sometimes the best new piece of jewelry isn’t new at all. 💛
